Italian Bread

Italian Bread

Ingredients
• 2 cups lukewarm water
• 1 package dry yeast
• 5 – 5 ¾ cups bread flour
• 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
• 2 ½ teaspoons salt
• 1 egg white, beaten
• 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Proof until foamy. Add salt. Add flour to yeast mixture until you get a sticky dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place in a well oiled bowl and turn until covered. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1hr. Punch down and place on pan to rise.
Preheat the oven to 425˚F. Brush bread with egg white and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top. Bake until golden brown and sounds hollow when you knock the top of it.
